Sin is universal; it is as old as man himself. People have committed all types of sin and been punished for it. There is however disagreement when it comes to how severe punishment should be. Some people believe that sinners should be punished deeply no matter how trivial their sin was. Some argue that the punishment should be based on the severity of the sin. This much leads to the question, what is the measure of scale for the severity of sin. What is trivial to one might appear extreme to the other.
