Throughout the novel, A Tale of Two Cities, many men have fallen for the beautiful Lucie Manette. Numerous of them have expressed there love for her and expressed a lot of sensitivity towards her. To me the man that showed the most sensitivity and the most respect for Lucie and her relationship with her father, Dr. Manette, would be Charles Darnay. He showed a lot of compassion and proved that his love for her is very real.

Towards the beginning of the book 2 when Charles Darnay was on the trial for treason Lucie Manette had to tell the judge if she had ever seen the prisoner before. Lucie then recalled the story of the first time they met. Dr. Manette was very ill and in a very weak ...
