In Roe v. Wade the United States government gave women the right to have an abortion. However, all court cases since have chipped away at women�s reproductive rights. The first case was Webster v. Reproductive Health Services. This case is the provision making it unlawful for a public employee to perform or assist in an abortion or for a public facility to be used to perform an abortion unless the mother�s life is in danger.
In a similar case entitled Harris v. McRae, the court withheld federal funds under Medicaid programs for reimbursement for abortion. In both cases the court found that this statute placed no governmental obstacle in the way of a women�s obtaining an abortion. ...

From the readings in the Mahler text, one can assume that Nigeria does not have a stable democracy. After reading this passage I was asked to analyze and access the Nigerian regime in terms of state autonomy and whether it has state capacity in terms of infrastructural power. The final result of my theory will result in finding out if Nigeria can achieve rapid economic growth.
The term state autonomy is defined by the ability of a state to formulate and pursue interests that are not simply reflective of the demands from any particular class or social group. In the Nigerian regime, it is clearly stated that this country portrays low state autonomy. An example that stands out in the reading is the political leaders who run the Nigerian regime.
