Hector in this war is his son and wife. Like any other husband, Hector loves his wife and wants them to live in peace and be safe.

The motivations and goals contrast between the two warriors in that they both have a different way of showing heroism. Hector is a hero in his way. Even though he dies, he still was a hero to his people because he fought for the country and peace. Achilles was a hero because he knew how to fight, win battles, and he was immortal. The similarity that the two warriors have would be the love for their loved ones. Achilles fell in love with the slave girl that capture, and when Agamemnon tries to seduce her and insult Achilles, he refused to fight in the war. Hector's love for his wife and son was strong before he met death at the feet of Achilles. His son and his wife were his worlds, and all he wanted to do was protect them.
