Argument Against Abortion

Abortion is morally wrong because it not only takes the life of another human being but the very notion of it also degrades humanity in a way that desensitizes society to the value of life. Abortion is not an issue of the mother's rights; it is an issue of a child's life. Abortion has been turned into an easy way out of a difficult situation. Because abortion is such an easy out, many will argue that the fetus is not a human life until after the first trimester. However, serious thought to that statement because it demands that pro-choice individuals define life. Abortion is morally wrong and we must realize that just because it is legal does not make it right.

the fetus is a viable mass that cannot survive on its own. There are many human beings surviving out a uterus that fall into this category. Many of them have been disabled for one reason or another and they are unable to function on their own and need the assistance of someone else. If we were to follow the abortion argument in this same logical pattern, then it would be okay to end the lives of these individuals because they cannot fend for themselves. Another point to consider when defining "life" in relation to a fetus is he fact that whatever "it" is, we are all in agreement that "it" is not dead. If is it not dead, then it must be alive. If "it" is alive, does it really matter how alive it is? Let us not forget that young children at the age of two, four, six, and eight are still quite incapable of living on their own, yet killing them would be considered outrageous.
