Arrow of God

`Arrow of God' is Achebe's third novel and was set in the 1920s in rural Nigeria, after the pacification period and long before independence. The point at which it is set, the colonial project is well underway, and many British officials and contractors are in Nigeria building the infrastructure needed to continue this project to `civilize' and `modernize' Africa.

However, in his `Arrow of God', Achebe uses unique idiomatic expressions to illustrate moral values in the Igbo society. These Igbo idioms are "explained only through the context of the story ...
