Therefore readers must understand the context of the particular book/latter in order to interpret it. Since the biblical culture and our culture are not same therefore many time readers may find difficulty to understand some of the passage. For that readers must go back to the particular context of the book and study the people and culture then it will be very much easy for readers to understand the passage.
The Johannine corpus also was written in a different context than ours. Many of writings in the book were influenced by some of contemporary issues of that time. This part of the paper deals with some of the particular background of the writing which influenced the gospel writer.

It is hard to say that either john was influenced by Qumran community or Qumran community was influenced by John. But many similar ideas are found in each writings.
