Within this unit was a company called Easy Company that was made up of men who found themselves at the beginning of the war in Europe. They parachuted into Normandy (France) on D-day (WWarII). Brother" is a retiree from the University of New Orleans. He was a professor of history. Dr. Ambrose is a creative yet simple writer keeping you on the edge of wanting to know what happens next while telling you the story of the men of Easy Company. The minute I opened the book during the first couple of pages I was hooked and took pride in these men for the commitment and loyalty they had for their country. While the men of Easy Company like to remain humble into thinking that they are not the real heroes of the war. After reading this book I seem to think differently. It took a lot of courage and guts to do what the men of Easy Company did. And as I read I couldn't help but come to tears and become overwhelmed with different emotions ranging from happy to sad, with excitement popping through my chest.
