Advertisements are all over the place. Whether they are on TV, radio, or in a magazine, there is no way that you can escape them. They all have their target audience who they have specifically designed the ad for. And of course they are selling their product. This is a multibillion dollar industry and the advertiser�s study all the ways that they can attract the target audience�s attention. The article I chose to do is a Michael Jordan, �Become Legendary� commercial.
Jordan Brand attempts to communicate to its audience that to �Become Legendary,� �It isn�t about the shoes, but it is what you do in them.� They do this by showing a number of star athletes performing when they were playing ...

One of the themes of the commercial is within the audience itself. In the very first scene all you can see initially is the shoes of an unidentified person wearing them. The screen then scrolls up to reveal Ray Allen, the NBA�s all time leading three point shooter, deep in thought. This is possibly meant to be symbolic that each and every person in the audience is the athlete in those shoes. Then in the final scene we see a black screen with the words �Become Legendary.: These two slides form the setting that each member of the audience is supposed to face, the moment in their mind at which they either decide in favor of, or against attempting to �Become Legendary.� The ad is trying to communicate to its audience wherever it is, and since this ad is attempting to call to action its audience the setting is within the audiences minds themselves when they are making their decision to �Become Legendary.�
