The Ku Klux Klan had a negative effect on the Civil Rights Movement because they believed in an all "White Supremacy."
The KKK was a racist group developed in Pulaski Tennessee, 1866. They inflicted a negative impact on the civil rights movement. They believed that black should be "put in their place" "they targeted black farmers, businessmen, politicians, and their relatives. They burned their farms, stores, churches, and meeting halls. Stephenson " a major Klan leader was convicted of second degree murder, and evidence of corruption came out that led to the indictment of the governor of Indiana and the mayor of Indianapolis."
