College Grades' Reflection On Academic Abilities

subject areas. This new-found passion for finance and economics is demonstrated through my grades in the upper-year core-business courses, at which I excelled. My average GPA during these last two years of college was a 3.40, representing a significant improvement over my average GPA from my first two years in academia. In my third and fourth years, I made the Dean's list for academic standing - an achievement that seemed unattainable in my earlier college years.
These latter two years of college provide a significant contrast to my first two years. I had an extremely difficult time being away from home, particularly during my first year but with residual effects during my second year. This difficult adjustment period arose primarily due to the closeness of my family, and my absence from them affected all facets of my life including my academic life.
