At the start of the scene Shakespeare uses repetition of the word `hot' to create the atmosphere of conflict and fear. It suggests anger in the air, as usually when it's hot people are impulsive and it's easier to irritate them. It also creates a sense of expectation of characters doing something reckless.

The phrase `mad blood stirring' makes the audience think something bad and unpredictable is going to happen. The personification of the word `blood' suggests that the blood will be spilled. Furthermore it indicates that Capulets might be bloodthirsty; just like animals. We know Tybalt is usually full of aggression so in this hot day he'll probably be even more cruel and hateful.

fight him. To create an even tenser atmosphere Tybalt suggests a homosexual relationship between Mercutio and Romeo by saying `consortest with Romeo'. This provoking makes audiences hold their breath waiting for when they start to fight.

When Romeo says his speech about `love' towards Capulets, in particular to Tybalt, there is dramatic irony created by Shakespeare as audience know that Romeo says it because he's now Tybalt's family but the characters have no idea about the wedding. They are taken aback and don't understand how Romeo (who is a Montague) can say `Capulet, which name I tender' as everyone knows those two families are foes since forever.
