, situated high about in the mountains region between Peru and Bolivia, is a place that unites the ideas of religion and great beauty. With a magnificent lake that spans beyond the eyes can see, a rough and traitorous mountain climb, and its ten-foot crosses that represent the apostles. is a place of true wonder and amazement.
As people slowly step deeper and farther in the lake, a chill runs up their body. The cold, wet waters from Lake Titicaca creep up towards their head in an effort to completely immerse them in its clear body of water, giving a feeling of relief and calmness. feet away from the shoreline. The steps they take are considered sacred and the people are supposed to go on them bear footed. These steps are made up of little rocks, some of them smoother than others. The first few steps up the mountain are relatively simple to climb. Nevertheless, as one goes higher, the steepness of the mountain begins to take affect on one's already weary feet, making it difficult to get to the top, but not impossible. The trees that surround the path make them feel part of a place where nothing could go wrong. If one were lucky enough, they would find a piece of rock that was used to make the steps. Once they are close to the top, the little town begins to take shape, which looks welcoming.
