The 2004 film, Crash explores the complex issues of racism among the many cultures living in Los Angeles. In this movie, every character is profoundly affected by prejudice and not one comes out unscathed. Throughout the movie, these lives are brought together through car accidents, crime, and serendipity -- with each character ending up startlingly changed from who they were just 2 days ago at the story�s start. When first introduced in the film, Anthony and his friend, Peter, are two young black men coming out of a restaurant in a nicer part of town. Anthony is complaining about having to wait so long for his meal to arrive. He asks Peter, �You see any white people in there waiting an hour and thirty-two minutes for a plate of spaghetti?�. Anthony further points out that while the waitress offered surrounding customers coffee, she didn�t offer any to Anthony or Peter, presumably because they are black.
