King Solomon, son to David was a man of great wisdom. According to I Kings in the Holy Bible, Solomon received his wisdom from God for the purpose of ruling over Israel. Solomon was only a young boy, but was charged to be King when his father David died. �When the time drew near for David to die, he gave charge to Solomon his son� (I Kings 2:1). God asked Solomon was there anything he wanted, and Solomon answered � so give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong� (I Kings 3:9). God then granted Solomon wisdom and said, � I will give you a wise discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you nor will there ...

His plan was to trick the two women by offering to cut the baby in half, allowing one half to go to each mother. The real mother of the child said to the King �Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don�t kill him!� (I Kings 3:26). The mother of the dead child said to the King �Neither I nor you shall have him cut him in two� (I Kings 3:26). After hearing the reply of both women, King Solomon said �Give the living baby to the first woman. Do not kill him; she is his mother�(I Kings 3:27). King Solomon truly knew how to administer justice by using the wisdom God gave him.
