Report (Doc. B) ousted the conditions of several meat packaging factories. Americans realized that the conditions were absolutely despicable and had to be taken care of. The government also had a realization that the consumer was important as well as the wealthy business man. A series of laws were passed in Congress giving a protocol that the food industry was going to have to follow. The Meat Inspection Act and The Pure Food and Drug Act are just a couple examples of these. Another issue of working conditions did not have to do with the consumer, but rather the actual workers themselves.
