The Black Collective Will came to exist through the effects of oppression that black people as a whole experienced in everyday life. WEB Du Bois believed that there are three main thoughts/effects of oppression, they are as follows. 1) The idea of giving into oppression, having to follow the things that are determined by the oppressor. 2) Blacks being forced to vote opposite than the oppressor, and not having knowledge in what they were voting for. 3) Self-Identity, with the group being historically oppressed. Black Nationalist never saw black culture as something meaningful because they couldn�t use it as a political organizing tool. The double consciousness of Black Nationalist is they are willing to fight for the betterment of the black community as a whole, rather than looking out the advancement of themselves individually. Their goal was to go out and take/fight for what is rightfully owed to the black community. Their actions were very courageous and dangerous at the same time.
