Ewart's Ending and Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby Comparison

With the poem, Ending by Gavin Ewart, the main characters all seem to be alike in many ways as in having determination, keeping hope and losing the loves of their lives. Fitzgerald's main character, Gatsby, remains to keep hope throughout the novel with no thought of losing his love. Sinclair's main character, Jurgis is determined to stay by his love's side forever, but only time took him to realize how quick he lost her in his life for good. Ewart's main character, which I believe is himself initiates revealing suddenly how his love was lost all on its own.

course this mostly sets out to be for his lady love, Ona. Jurgis did all he could for Ona, he created a family with her, Ona depended on her husband. Later into the novel, The jungle, the complications set in, many problems begun to occur and eventually Jurgis loses his love, Ona. Jurgis did not only lose her out of his life, but she as well lost her own life; he fell apart. Jurgis was no longer optimistic, and no longer had the love of his life around.
Gavin Ewart creates his poem using himself as the main character. Ewart begins to share what he once had to something he never thought he would have, with his love. He shares the previous, once strong love between him and the love he now has lost. He wasn't hoping anything to go wrong, he was unhappy with the fact that he knew he was trailing his love, and in the end, he actually did end up losing her.
