With the nations thoughts and beliefs that the country could do better with it�s natural resources, came the creation of National Forests. With the expansion of urban life, many of the nations forests were being used for different reasons. People were using it to build wooden houses which helped wipe out parts of the forests over time. Some people were taking advantage of the cover of the forests to over hunt the species that occupied the land. And again, others would use the access of the forests just because the demand of land was on the rise. All of these problems would soon create even worse problems due to the overuse of these resources. ...

These Forest Service managers enforced restrictions on activities and business that took place over these lands. For preservation, the groups of people would encourage the removal of old growth of tracts of trees in order to promote new growth for the future.
Some of the protectors of this land were so conscientious about even the different species living off of the land that it was only best to protect them as well. Although the many hunters were evident during this time, the protectors saw it as something bad due to the decrease in natural wildlife. As a reaction to this, they began killing off those natural hunters, but this soon came to be a problem as well. By killing off the hunters, they opened up the overproduction of the hunted, which ultimately set the method of natural selection off balance.
