Finnie Walsh Female Realtionships
Finnie Walsh is a young, wealthy, hard working boy. He has dreams and aspirations of one day, to hopefully become a professional hockey player; to play in the same ranks as �the greats,� such as Finnie�s favourite player, Peter Statsny. Finnie is also a very nice, well liked boy. Some would say he is even a ladies man. He has some very special relationships with females throughout the novel; three in particular are with Joyce Sweeney, Sarah Woodward, and Louise Woodward.

little too strong and Finnie didn�t take too kindly in that and started to brawl with Frank. In the midst of their fight he threw Frank at the crowd and as Frank landed on a girl, oddly enough, his eyeball got accidentally popped out by the girls� thumb. After this whole incident happened, people start to look at Finnie differently; �he became the villain.� Maybe Joyce likes this so called, bad boy act, and thinks Finnie is really like that, when he really isn�t, he just knew he had to stick up for Louise. Nearing the end of the summer of 1988, Joyce is getting ready to go away to McGill University and when she leaves, she and Finnie try to have a long distance relationship; it just doesn�t work out. �Oddly enough, though, it was Finnie who gave up on the whole thing.� Joyce tells Finnie that she is going to stay in Montreal for the summer to work instead of going back home.
