very calm tone. He makes interesting points yet never really gets fired up about it. The laid-back nature of the paper shows that the writer has no significant bias. He never really picks a side yet just explains the concepts as they are.
The article opened my mind to the idea of using an appeal too much. I always thought to ensure that the audience was persuaded to buy a product you would need to use as much appeals as possible to drive home the companies message. This article introduced to me that people may get turned off by too much of an appeal. I learned that one must use the right mix of an appeal to reach all of their potential audience. This changed my mind about an idea that the commercials with the most humor will sell the most products. Rather, the advertisement with the best mix of humor and information will sell the most products.
