The book I chose to read as my second book for the semester is called Frankenstein, and it is by Mary Shelley. The book is about the tale of a man who seeks to create life for the better of mankind. However, once he creates this being, things do not go as planned and, due to neglect and maltreatment of his creation, the creature begins taking revenge on Victor, his creator. Victor�s creation, referred to as Frankenstein, is shunned and flees the city in which they lived due to fear from both Victor and anyone who came into contact with Frankenstein. me a couple pages to get used to due to its Romantic style English and use of such abundant wording. It starts out by telling the near end of the story when Victor is telling his tale to Walton, a ship captain whom he meets while chasing Frankenstein to the North Pole. Victor is telling Walton to beware of this monster, and Victor tries to persuade Walton to help him on his voyage. Then the second chapter starts by going back-in-time as Victor tells the story to Walton. At the end of the book the story meets yet again in the North Pole where the story meets the beginning and continues from there to meet the ending. This writing style really adds to the feel of the book because it gives it a unique aspect that really captivated me.
Due to this style of writing I would recommend it to young adults and above because it may be difficult for people under a certain reading level. I�d also recommend it to anyone who enjoys this Romantic style of writing because that is how the entire ...
