The eighties and nineties have made us aware that gangs are no longer just an inner city problem. The news media that has made us aware of the problems has also played a major role in spreading the problem. Along these lines lets take a look at one incident of a local gang leader. Ace a young man in his early twenties believes he is in control but as we are about to see he really isn�t in control of his life or his gang. A drive-by shooting is about challenge to his sense of empowerment, mortality and out look on life.

by a drive-by shootings. Although drive-by shooting have occurred in the city they didn�t happen in Ace�s park. They were just something that he had seen in the news and on television. For this reason no one in Ace's group was alarmed by the car before the shooting took place.
When the shot rang out no one was more surprised than Ace. He didn't have a clue to what has happened until he sees the blood running from his forehead. At that moment his outlook on life is about to change forever. In a panic he is sure he is going to die. Had he been alone he could have very easily died from the loss of blood and shock that was causing heart trauma. But he is helped by a local police officer who sent him to the hospital in a ambulance where his wound was treated.
Having never been to a hospital before he is sure he is going to die. Even though he only has a flesh wound the fear almost kills him by inducing a heart problem. It wasn't until the nurses were attending to him that he felt a ...
