Billy Murray, Andie MacDowell and Chris Elliot, all star in the 1993 film, Groundhog Day. Billy Murray plays Phil Connors, an overconfident Pittsburgh weatherman, who is assigned an assignment on a Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney. During his hated assignment, he finds himself repeating the same day over and over again. During these repeated days, he examines his life and priorities and becomes a better person with surprising ending results. When Phil wakes up the next morning, he experiences the same day (February, 2), while the others proceed, experiencing a normal day. As Phil relives Groundhog Day over and over again, he learns a lesson each day. As he comes to the realization that Groundhog Day may be his fate for eternity, he realizes that there will not be any long-term consequences, but that knowledge, especially as it relates to Rita, can be a powerful and a dangerous thing. But he is given opportunity after opportunity to get the day right.
