The play Hamlet by William Shakespeare is considered one of the greatest tragedies in English Literature. In the tragedy Hamlet the character, Hamlet, confronts many different ideas inside his own self. Hamlet is the type of character who kept all of his emotions inside of himself this idea is prevalent in the soliloquies. In the soliloquies the reader sees Hamlet letting go of his emotions. A soliloquy is a long narrative speech from a character to the audience; therefore the character is talking to him. Hamlet confronts ideas of incest, revenge, loyalty to the king, and death. uncle. As a result Hamlet's mother was actually married to her dead husbands brother, which was conceded incest. "[O God! A beast hat wants discourse of reason would have mourned longer] (1.2.156-157). This quote vividly expresses how Hamlet feels about the quick remarriage of his mother. By the use of animal imagery the reader can see the hate towards the marriage. The reader can also see how Hamlet feels about how quick his mother remarried by the use of the phrase "mourned longer." Another quote to support this idea is "...she married" (1.2.163). By the character Hamlet saying this vividly expresses his disbelief that his mother has remarried. He also has the dilemma of dealing with his mother marring his uncle. There are also many other feeling of the first soliloquy.
