and uncles and my grandmother. At this point, I began to practice my disappearing craft. I grew up only and in fear of never belonging. I never understood why they left me. I would find myself disappearing into cartoons. No one existed when my cartoons were on. I felt safe and happy. I would always get in trouble for monopolizing the television remote.
I am a single mother to a very beautiful and smart girl. Big eyes like mine and an even bigger imagination. Sometimes I don't understand why I was chosen to be her mommy. But raising a young one partly alone is very challenging. I discovered that I was pregnant with her two weeks after her father and I parted ways. I was not scared about the possibility of raising her on my own. My life and my very rough childhood have prepared me to be strong. As an adult, I continued to watch cartoons.
