that is one of the most well known traits about this book. Mark Twain uses the character Jim to show why and how slavery is wrong and shouldn't be legal. The character Jim shows the life of a slave and the emotions a slave might have. Jim was about to be sold to another slave owner but then he ran away so he would not be separated from his family. Jim takes care of Huck and becomes his friend and it shows that Jim is not a bad person and should not be treated the way he is. Jim and Huck never did talk about slavery nor did they ever judge each other or think badly of one another. Huck was loyal to Jim because he ignored everything society said about going to hell if you free a slave and decided to free him. It was a good thing that Huck saved Jim because Jim was always there for Huck and helped in a time of need, rather than selling out to society and to people he did not even know.

He does that because he was not raised properly, therefore he did not know that what he was doing is wrong. In some senses Huck seems to me more wise than some of the adults.
