There were many themes in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer there were many themes that were put into the book. One of the themes was honor. At the beginning of the novel the character Tom Sawyer said there is a lot of honor behind being a thief. Robbery happens a lot in the story and Huck and Jim had to deal with it when they were on the boat that wrecked. They had to deal with the biggest thieves king and Dauphin who robbed anyone they saw. that is one of the most well known traits about this book. Mark Twain uses the character Jim to show why and how slavery is wrong and shouldn't be legal. The character Jim shows the life of a slave and the emotions a slave might have. Jim was about to be sold to another slave owner but then he ran away so he would not be separated from his family. Jim takes care of Huck and becomes his friend and it shows that Jim is not a bad person and should not be treated the way he is. Jim and Huck never did talk about slavery nor did they ever judge each other or think badly of one another. Huck was loyal to Jim because he ignored everything society said about going to hell if you free a slave and decided to free him. It was a good thing that Huck saved Jim because Jim was always there for Huck and helped in a time of need, rather than selling out to society and to people he did not even know.
