The United States was once the envy of the world in education. The beginning of furthering education began in the U.S. and people fled when freedom became impossible in their own nations. However, today's society is becoming known as the tech society. Mass media has taken over the knowledge, time, and values of numerous Americans in their cultural environment. Postman, quick to keep biblical references in mind, criticized the next level of Americans intelligence in today's day and age. Postman utilizes Huxley and Orwell's books to compare and contrast the possible future societies and why America is slowly shifting to the Huxleyan society.

These sources of information must be seen as entertaining, therefore most of the time we are not getting the full story or truth.
