If the average life span were increased to 150 years, what major changes in society would you expect? Discuss.
The average life span of people in this day and age is anywhere from seventy-five to ninety-five years. If this were dramatically increased to one hundred and fifty years, there would be major changes in society as we know it. One of these changes would be overpopulation. There would be an increased awareness of personal health. Lastly, we would find that instead of the retirement age being around sixty-five, it would probably skyrocket to around one hundred and twenty. Such a dramatic change in life span would have several major reactions throughout society.

I�m certain that is the way most people feel today, but I would definitely do more sit-ups if I knew I would be alive for my great-great-great-grandchildren. People will always wish they were younger or more energetic. Doubling the amount of time one has to be a kid at heart might just make this world a happier place.
If people started living to be one hundred and fifty years old, the amount of time during their lives to be dedicated to careers would increase by quite a bit. Even if the average retirement age were to be one hundred, that would still be more than thirty years of an increase. Because of a higher age of retirement, there would be fewer jobs to offer recent graduates.
