's walking in the snow, looking at the blood and trail. He
came across a grave. He followed the signs across the creek. He picked up
the pieces of a root and rubbed in his hand. He went to the creek to drink
some water. He observed a unique salamander on the stones. He picked it up
to examine it. Night was approaching so stopped. He thought to
himself for awhile. He felt empty inside. He had no food to eat except
for the walnuts. He said wasn't going to eat anything until he saw Ada.
He then continued to throw stuff in the creek. Inman imagined what it
would be like to see Ada. He cleaned his clothes and himself. He slept
naked to let his clothes dry. Inman came across the ...

the war. He was trying not to listen to the voices in
his head, but he couldn't avoid them. They told him that it was possible
to be lost in bitterness and anger that you are no longer able to find your
way out. Inman finally got up from his slumber and continued on his
journey. Inman would never have been able to follow the track if it
weren't for the tracing in the old snow. He came across a black pool of
water. There was a lone drake in the center of it. Inman thought the
drake's world constricting and that the drake would float there until the
ice clenched the webbing in its feet. The drake would flap to try and free
itself but his attempts would be useless. It would be pulled to its death.
Inman thought to shoot and change its fate a little but he decided against
it. He hated to kill an animal and not even eat it. So, he left it alone.
