Leo Tolstoy is regarded as perhaps one of the greatest writers and novelists of the 20th century. Of European-Russian decent, Tolstoy influenced and inspired many contemporary and future leaders. He is most well known for his two literary masterpieces War and Peace and Anna Karenina, both profound literary works of 19th century Russian life. As an influencer of current thinking, Tolstoy championed an idea of nonviolent resistance, described in his book The Kingdom of God Is Within You in which he portrayed the mosaic of Tolstoy�s Christian heritage and thinking.
