Life As A Deaf Person

Being deaf isn't all that you think it is. You don't realize how much you use your ears until you cant anymore. For my first activity I just tried walking around the house. Everything was quiet and boring. I couldn't hear the TV noises, my family talking, the doors shutting, or the refrigerator running. I was quickly beginning to tell that being deaf was not something I wanted to be any more.
My next activity was to play a board game with my family. I could read directions fine so there was no problem learning the game. A few minutes into the game my family started conversing and yelling when they made a good move. I had no idea what was being said. I tried ...

my struggles would be and that would be with the clutch and changing gears. I rolled out of the drive with my clutch engaged and the truck in first gear. At first I revved the engine way too high and could tell from the vibrations in my hand and throughout my body. I backed off the gas a little and eased the clutch out and I was on my way! After I got through the initial first stages everything was smooth sailing.
Next, I tried ordering food through a drive-thru window. This was going to be difficult because I could order my own food still as always but never knew what she was saying back so my dad eventually had to cut in and finish my order. If this would have been my permanent life style I would no doubt need to learn some form of sign language in order to interact with people or I would be doomed.
