Martin Luther King Jr., an African American from Atlanta, Georgia, had an extraordinary effect on the civil rights movement. In his piece of writing, Letter from Birmingham Jail, he uses wise and precise writing to effectively give his input on civil rights to the Clergy men to convince everyone that what is going on in the south, specifically Alabama, is not morally right in any way.

Martin Luther King Jr. looks at this as him not being able to just sit in Atlanta and let the injustice take place in other places and not take action to try and rid the civil rights issue for good. As he mentions, [Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere]. (148) He also promptly uses this intelligent line, [Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly]. (148) This is a lead up to another prompt point, "Anyone who lives inside the United Stated can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds".
