Moby Dick compared to White Whale's Tailmen

Moby-Dick is a very exciting novel written by Herman Melville that takes everything to a whole new level. The Pequod serves as a place of isolation for the crew compared to Nantucket. While on the Pequod the crew must face each other�s insanity but also natural elements such wind, fire, and storms. The world in which the crew lives in has a very strong effect against the Pequod and the way the crew will interact with one another. The crew is coming from a world where there are strong racial barriers but while they are on the Pequod they must all work together.

Saint Elmo�s fire strikes the ship, causing the objects to glow, many of the characters interpret this differently. Ahab sees it as a sign from God and God�s way of representing the power that is held by Ahab. While Ahab believes the fire is a good occurrence, Starbuck realizes the cautionary sign and knows of the foreboding catastrophe.
As we learn later on, the doubloon serves as a major factor to the development of the story. The doubloon represents the main goal of capturing Moby Dick and fulfilling the revenge set out by Ahab. There are seven stars on the doubloon and they all symbolize a character. The center star serves as Ahab because he is the captain of the Pequod and the whole goal of the Pequod is to seek and fulfill Ahab�s revenge against Moby Dick.
