I learned that it would most likely benefit me to read over the notes that I did get to copy down each night and fill in what was missing. See in High school they either wait for you to catch up, send out powerpoint, or even print them out. They hold your hand, I learned that in college you can no longer expect that “safety blanket.” I learned that whatever a professors teaching style is, you need to learn to adjust to it whether you like it or not, because in the long run it will only harm you if you do not. Learning that everything is not going to be handed to me was probably the hardest lessons. The reason being as a student you expect the teacher to not only teach, but teach in a way that works for you. Having to learn the difference between excellent teaching and learning that to be an excellent teacher you do not have to allow students to copy all the notes was a difficult thing for me.
