Emotions can be a powerful form of persuasion; it can mislead or guide you to do things, you might not normally do without a little support. There are many emotions portrayed though out the novel, love as a weapon being one of them. Marcia conquered an emotional mountain without Bucky even realizing it. She had thought out almost everything he might use as a defense, with smart, fast comebacks; always two thoughts ahead she was playing a game with him and was winning.
As mentioned she had plenty of reasons to convince Bucky to move up with her, �I need you more than ever. I love you so much. I miss you so much. I dread the idea of something happening to you� (86). All lined up in one flowing statement, bombarding him with thoughts not giving him time to think about each individual statement.
