Holocaust: a word never to be spoken of by the Jews or Germans. The books Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas are both about the holocaust but written from two different perspectives. Night is a book about a young boy, Elie, who is Jewish and had to travel to many confinements because of war. He was only able to stay with his father because his mother was sent elsewhere. Elie was faced with many challenges along the way; traveling to four different internment camps, almost being separated from his father, brutally being beat, and almost losing his father. Elie and Bruno are able to relate to each other because they were both taken away from a place they called home. Elie and his father, Wiesel, were forced out and put on a train to a concentration camp. Wiesel became very frustrated because he was confused as to what was going on, even though a friend of his had warned him. Wile acted as though nothing was happening, he only seemed to be a tad worried.
