Over the past ten to fifteen years, the music industry has been suffering tremendously. Physical record sales have plummeted, albums have become less important, and concerts have become overpriced. Not to mention the theft of music through digital downloads has become an issue. Because of this, it is almost impossible today to find a respectable band that hasn�t �sold out� and in the rare occasion you do, their merchandise, albums, and concert tickets are too overpriced to actually purchase. Perhaps with cheaper prices for albums and ways to give back to the fans, the industry could be saved and bands would focus more on making a solid album rather than a hit single.

can compete with those that my elders grew up listening to, which is a major problem. If technology and education keep getting stronger and better, why can�t music do the same? Why can�t there be bands like the Rolling Stones today? Why can�t there be hip hop artists in the same caliber as Nas, Biggie, and Jay-Z? The digital download is what the answer to all those questions is. Bands and artists today are living, and dying by the digital download. The bands today care more about that catchy tune you hear constantly on the radio rather than putting together a quality album that would attract a stronger following and more respect.
