The children that go to the place are very poor and have to there because their parents are working long hours or there is only one parent that can provide for the family, and to make ends meet, this is what has to be done. If they were not taken care of, by the volunteers, after school, then the children would either be home alone or out on the streets getting into trouble, which is what used to happen before this was available.
In this town, one can see that they are poverty stricken and that most of them see the �American Dream� fading away. With all of the growing poverty rates in the United States, it is becoming harder and harder for people to find jobs or even survive. Most children and their families that attend this program are most likely under the poverty line or right at it. They struggle to survive and have a safe place to go and get food to eat that they may not have at home. There are many programs that the government puts in place to help the poor out, but ...
