Sigmund Freud was a strange man. The fact that he had sexual relations with his own mother makes me take him less seriously than he would have wished; apparently he did not solve his Oedipal complex. Freud would have been an extraordinary example for Fredrich Nietzsche, who thought that the irrational people we are, should just listen to our drives and impulses to live a better life. According to Freud, our first sexual person we encounter is our father or mother. He defiantly acted on his impulses and went for what his unconscious wanted.

Reading these insane conclusions Freud came to, makes me think; why did people put so much emphasis on what this man had to say? In a way it can be understood how the id, ego, and superego dynamic could be applicable to people, as we all feel the wants of the id, but find a way to listen to the superego and eventually make compromises with of the help of the id.

Freud was convinced that everything has to do with sex; people just deny it because of social norms. Yes, some people are very sexually driven; however, how do you explain the people who decide to be abstinent and focus on other things? How do you explain they way people work hard to help others with no benefit for themselves?
