In a plethora of honorable works, authors use name meanings to amplify their character�s identity and reputation. Playwright William Shakespeare�s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is no exception considering his character�s appellations reveal elements of their personality. To begin with, Mercutio�s name is often affiliated with the word �mercurial� meaning �changeable; volatile; having an unpredictable mood�. Mercutio displays his temperamental attitude during the Queen Mab speech when he says �And in this state she gallops night by night/ Through lovers� brains, and then they dream of love;/ On courtiers� knees, that dream on cur�sies straight;/[...]/
