12-13 year old all-star team. This was the first season I was a full time catcher. Luckily, the league president gave me an exception and I was able to make the team. My very next game, in my first at bat, I hit a homerun over the left field fence. As I was rounding the bases, I noticed the league president sitting in the stands clapping. I was happy that I proved to him that I was worthy of making the all-star team.

The next season was the most important season of my life. I was in 7[th] grade and my coach noticed talent in me. He told my dad that one day I had a shot at making it into the MLB. I just had to keep working hard. That season I really improved as a player. He pushed me every practice and every game to be the best player and person I could be. As a catcher, I had the best season of my life so far. I threw out a large number of runners including one game where I threw out three runners against the best team in the league.

The offseason between my 8[th] grade year and my freshman year was the biggest offseason of my life so far. I hit in the cages every day after school, and I also caught many bullpens for pitchers of many ages. That year I met a few major league scouts.
