In the article, Mad About You, it deals with evolutionary
psychology. There are three studies conducted to try to answer the question
of sexual jealousy, emotional jealousy and the different sexes. Jealousy is
a behavior. The way humans behave is believed to be the way the human race
survives. Certain weak factors are selected out and the human race is made
strong.
In the first study, 200 undergraduate students were given
scenarios about love. Love has two parts to it - physical and mental.
Scenario one deals with the physical part of it. Scenario two deals with
the emotional part of being in a relationship. When the data was analyzed,

expressing them. Electrodermal activity, pulse rate, and electromyographic
activity were the measures used.
After the raw data of the first two studies were analyzed and
studied, a third study was conducted. 300 male and female undergraduate
students were given the same scenarios as in study one, but were asked
questions after. One of the questions was, "Have you ever been involved in
a committed sexual relationship before?" The students answered this
question and the data was taken. In the male category, there was a
significant difference. In the female category, there wasn't a significant
difference. The men still felt sexual jealousy, but more after experiencing
a committed relationship. The women still felt emotional jealousy when
presented with the two scenarios with or without experiencing a committed
relationship.
Culture may be more of a reason for these findings, than
