The Super Bowl is an American icon that seems to define generations of fans, players, and coaches. However, the price of such a game seems to escalate year to year, making it difficult for each host city to �out-do� the previous host. For Super Bowl XLVIII, the projected cost peaks at a staggering $50 million due to the fact that it will be hosted close to New York City. Staging such a large-scale event requires a lot of money, but in order for this game to be in the vicinity of such a prominent city, the fundraising goal for the game had to be increased 25 percent, an unexpected increase. Although some may doubt the New York area�s ability to finance the $50 million, Mike Kelly, who led Super Bowl hosting committees in various locations, thinks that the game and its hosts raise the bar every year and because of the resources that New York has available financially, the NFL will not be disappointed when 2014 rolls around.
