1.) Herbert Hoover and Frederick D. Roosevelt were bipolar to one another's ideologies on what needed to be executed in rehabilitating the economy. When comparing their backgrounds and political attachment, you get a good sense on how FDR and Hoover's strategies were developed as a result of their intrinsic beliefs they formed growing up. For instance, Hoover was born into a poor family, but it did not stop him from working hard and becoming a successful individual. His actions to not help, and let the economy fit itself would lead to 25 percent unemployment and a society that was "under water". Roosevelt the president who would replace Hoover was born into wealth, and had everything handed to him on a silver spoon. Growing up he contracted polio a disease paralyzing his legs. He would have a wheelchair for the rest of his life, which made his more sensitive to the troubles of others. Going into his presidency, his belief was that one should do unto others, as they wanted done to them. FDR as president was interested in supplying government programs to stimulate the economy, financial aid, and intervention for those hit the hardest by the stressful conditions. His actions quickly paid off, and he was able to strengthen the economy. This led to FDR's legacy of being one of the greatest presidents of the United States.
