The night air was chilly against the man's dark face as he waited patiently outside the massive gates leading to the mansion. His heavy, black, unkempt beard and long, curly, black uncombed hair could not even keep him warm tonight, as he shifted his large frame from foot to foot in an effort to keep warm. Crisp with the oncoming snow, the air filled his lungs, making it hard for him to breathe. He was a heavy smoker after all. Yet in the darkness of this evening, no cigarette burned. He knew his habit could lead to his arrest, were the cigarette butts ever found.

The man pulled the picture from his black trench coat's pocket, making sure he knew every feature of the woman's face. Killing the wrong person would be a disastrous mistake for a hired assassin, he thought to himself. The woman in the photograph was beautiful: she was white, very shapely with bright green eyes, and long blonde hair. Elegance was her profession, judging from the casual way she wore the diamonds and emeralds around her neck in the image. The man wondered why his client would ever want to harm such a beautiful woman, but such thoughts were useless. Through his career, the man had learned not to question his clients. Firstly, the customers always had their reasons. Secondly, the more he knew, the more difficult it was not to become emotionally involved with the situation, which was definitely a bad road to take as a hired killer.
