The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is the story of two lovers, from families on opposite sides of a long-standing feud. Many people are to blame for the deaths of the two lovers. However, the characters that are the most to blame are Mercutio, Friar Lawrence and Romeo and Juliet themselves. Mercutio is to blame for the guidance he gives to Romeo and for his entanglement in the family's feud. Mercutio ignores the fact that Romeo feels that he is too sad for this party, which starts the chain of events that lead up to Romeo meeting Juliet.
