Michael Ondaatje�s The English Patient tells a story of how four different individuals lives come together at the end of World War II. There is a sense of mystery as the four strangers lived together in an abandoned Italian villa, gradually revealing their identities through a series of recollections. Throughout the novel, the past and present are constantly intertwined, and the focus of the story shifted from one character to another.
