The Life of William Shakespeare

Shakespeare was a man who wrote many plays. He wrote at least 38 plays. �According to Michael J. Cummings many people regard him as the world�s greatest dramatist and the finest poet England has ever produced (Wordbook 1).� He also wrote two major narrative poems, a sequence of sonnets, and several short poems. Shakespeare�s plays have attracted large audiences in big, sophisticated cities and in small, rural towns (Cummings 1).

William was a most valuable player when it comes to writing. He started writing at 1590 and ended 1613. In that short period he wrote 38 plays. Schools all around the world still read them today. Famous theaters around the world even act them out acting like they were in the Globe Theatre. Michael J. Cummings says, �That he altered his writing styles many times� (1). Shakespeare also wrote 154 sonnets and many successful quotes.
Over the years 1594-1599 the Chamberlain's Men had become the most popular acting company in London, being invited to perform at court far more often than any other group. Shakespeare must have done a great deal of acting. The Globe Theater burned down in 1613 and many of Shakespeare's manuscripts were ruined. Shakespeare's last work before he retired was The Tempest. Then he died in 1616 and was then buried in the Parish Church. (Wordbook 1)
