The New Deal

The New Deal provided social justice for Americans in many different ways. Social justice is a society based on the principles of equality and solidarity, and that's exactly what Franklin Delano Roosevelt did with his New Deal for America. America was in troubled times when FDR came into office, so he had to do something drastic. Unemployment was the major problem and his first task was the Unemployment Relief Act, which, in turn, created the Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC gave over 3 million jobs to young men, the men were not only able to earn money for themselves, but for their entire family, so the wealth was slowly spread around. production. The Tennessee River valley had experienced major flooding, and they're economy had been hit hard by the depression. FDR implored Congress to pass the Tennessee Valley Authority which helped created more than 20 dams on the river to prevent more flooding, and provide electricity for the entire surrounding area. Housing was also another big problem that the New Deal helped solve. FDR created the Federal Housing Administration which helped make small loans to homeowners for repairs and construction. Enough houses were built to get many families out of criminal neighborhoods. To help business and labor, the National Recovery administration was created to help unemployment. It was designed to bring the working class Americans and businesses together.
